My Fellow Alaskan,

My name is Rocky Caldero and I seek to be the Democratic Party candidate for the United States Senate. I am an average Alaskan from rural Alaska. I understand that representing the State of Alaska and ALL Alaskans is a great honor and a tremendous responsibility. In the US Senate, we need leaders of honor and commitment who will be accountable for their decisions and actions. Alaska deserves leaders of unquestionable character who bring bold and sensible changes to this country and renew the promise of America for ordinary people.

I am that leader.

People all over America and in our great State are working hard to keep this country strong.  Our nation and our state are entering a time of new beginnings and fresh hope. New Alaskan leadership in the US Senate will allow us to strive and succeed more than ever. The unchallenged big money and special interest powers that once held sway are diminishing and ethical lapses are no longer ignored or tolerated. I am a leader that will represent Alaskans and their interests, not special interests. I will champion the peoples’ policies, not the policies that benefit few at the expense of the many families in Alaska or around America. I believe in asking questions, getting answers and not merely going with the flow of politics.

I am a concerned citizen looking for a change. I am Alaskan and I will work for You. I will ask the hard questions about where we’ve been, and work hard for where WE believe we can go together.

I’m not seeking your vote because I want to be a career politician. It certainly seems many of our elected leaders have different priorities.  Alaskans need and deserve more from their Senator. We can no longer ignore our problems at home, while we face challenges overseas. We can no longer entertain special interests while Alaskans lack the basics. We shouldn’t tolerate big money influence that dilutes Alaska revenues. Together we can take Alaska out of the grip of special interests and place it into the hands of the people of this great State!

Fiscal responsibility and frugality are the keys. Rather than throwing tax payers dollars to fight a problem, my approach is to address the root cause of the problem, not bandage the symptom. Fiscal responsibility is the centerpiece of my priorities, and I’ll fight for eliminating wasteful spending. Fiscal responsibility is a basic responsibility of the federal government, and I will make sure every dollar of your tax money is spent wisely.

When elected, I will be the voice of all Alaskans on the Senate floor that is fiscally conservative, socially progressive and environmentally responsible.

I will stand up for core American values we all share.
