Welcome 

We are facing some important times in our Pittsburgh Public Schools. Whether it’s dealing with the devastating cuts in funding, ensuring that our children are prepared to succeed in the classroom, dealing with transportation issues and safety we need strong leadership on our School Board to deal with the these issues.  We need to make our Public Schools the premier schools in the state, schools that will enhance the communities where our families live, work, and play.

Why I am running 

I know and understand the importance of working for children and community. I have spent over 35 years of my life doing it in the classroom as well as a principal. Now I want to use my experience to help make policies that will have an educational impact on the lives of children attending Pittsburgh Public Schools. I believe that our schools must address the needs of the students. The people who represent communities across the city must be willing to work with others who have committed themselves to represent, and articulate the views of the people they serve. I pledge to ensure quality and equity in our schools, to stress the need for implementation of proven Best Practices that have increased student achievement in other school districts, to magnify ongoing community engagement and to vote on all issues presented to the board of directors.

I am qualified, knowledgeable and willing to work for all residents of District 8. Join me and  together we can build stronger and more viable schools for our children and our communities.
