2008 can be a year of change, but with thousands of voters turning out on Election Day, 2008 could also be a year of long lines and missed opportunities at the polls. We can't afford to wait. Vote Early or Vote by Absentee Ballot for the November 4, 2008 Georgia General Election!
VOTE EARLY!
Early Voting begins Monday, September 22, 2008 at:
Lowndes County Board of Elections Office

Valdosta, GA 31602
Registered Lowndes County voters may cast their ballot in person on weekdays, between 8:00am and 5:00pm.
Advance Voting Week begins Monday, October 27 and ends Friday, October 31, 2008 at the same location above. Registered Lowndes County voters may cast their ballot during Advance Voting Week between 7:00am and 7:00pm.
No reason is needed to Vote Early or Vote in Advance, but photo ID is required. For Voter ID requirements visit www.gaphotoid.com or call toll free (877) 725-9797.
VOTE ABSENTEE
You may download an official Absentee Ballot Request form from the Georgia Secretary of State's website at www.sos.georgia.gov/electioncenter/ or from our website here.

No reason is required to request an Absentee Ballot. If you are physically disabled or living temporarily outside your county of residence, a close relative may apply for an Absentee Ballot for you. Photo ID is not required when voting Absentee by mail.
Once you receive your Absentee Ballot in the mail, simply fill it out (remember to sign), and mail it back. Completed Absentee Ballots must be received by your County Board of registrars' office by Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2008. To make sure you receive your Absentee Ballot in time, please submit your Absentee Ballot Request no later than Tuesday, October 21, 2008.
VOTING ON ELECTION DAY
If you do not Vote Early or vote by Absentee Ballot, you may vote on Election Day, Tuesday, November 4, 2008. Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm on Election Day. Find your correct polling place at www.sos.georgia.gov/elections/polllocator/ or by calling (888) 265-1115.
THE LOWNDES COUNTY DEMOCRATIC COMMITTEE:
- promotes development of Party organization and activities
- seeks and encourages qualified candidates for public office
- supports Democratic nominees
- performs such election functions as are required by law
- maintains appropriate records, promotes and adds logistcial support to the State Affirmative Action program
- raises funds for the above purposes
