Dear Family:

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to serve as Georgia's 7th Congressional District Delegate for Senator Barack Obama.  As your delegate, I was one of the voices for CHANGE at the Denver Democratic National Convention.  This campaign is a movement for CHANGE - not only for our Democratic Party but for America.  When I see people losing their homes, gas and food prices on the increase but income on the decrease - WE NEED CHANGE.  When I see our children falling behind in school, middle class America being eliminated - WE NEED CHANGE.  When I see our our elderly citizens lacking the the medical assistance due to increasing prescription costs and decreasing Medicare coverage - WE NEED CHANGE.

I decided to run for Delegate because I wanted to get off the sidelines and get actively involved.  I have watched a government that has been out of touch with the people and with reality.  As a Delegate, I can say, Instead of spending $12 billion a month to rebuild Iraq, let's invest in our infrastructure, our children and our people to rebuild America.  Instead of handing out giveaways to corporations, let's give a hand-up to families who are trying to pay their medical bills and send their children to college. Instead of watching the unemployment rate increase and watch our jobs being sent overseas, let's invest in our people to ensure we all can compete in this global economy.  I decided to run as Delegate because it's time for a new beginning. 

As your Delegate, I stood up for America at the Democratic National Convention so that we will have a Government for the people to reclaim our country.  This campaign is a movement. A movement for CHANGE! It's going to take all of us: Mothers, Fathers, Sons, Daughters, Teachers, Students, Administrators, the Business Community, and the Community as a whole to help create a better America. 

As we move forward,  I know that working together, we can turn Georgia a nice shade of Democratic Blue and make America the land of opportunity for all.  Please feel free to reach out to me, by email or phone, and let me know of your ideas, questions or concerns.
