Democrats to Green Atlanta on Earth Day
Democrats are getting together on Earth Day - Saturday, April 19th - to help green Atlanta with our friends at Trees Atlanta. Join Democrats Work, the Young Democrats of Georgia, and the Mid-Fulton Democrats (and a host of other great Democrats) for this great event. (Of course, those of you participating in the Congressional District Caucuses next Saturday have an excused absence. While you're putting our country on a better path inside, we'll be making a difference outside!) |

Rep. John Lewis Responds to 5th District Challenger
For Immediate Release
February 20, 2008
Contact: Michael Collins (404) 870-9038
Rep. John Lewis Responds to 5th District Challenger
"Leadership cannot be given. It has to be earned with respect and integrity. There is no question that something is happening in America. There is a movement, a movement that I helped give birth to, that creates the conditions and the climate for change. I have always been a fighter. I was born to fight, and I want to assure the people for the 5th< /SUP> Congressional District that I will continue to fight for what is right, what is fair, and what is just in the halls of the U.S. Congress. I know bridges. I am a bridge builder. I continue to build bridges, and I seek to build new bridges."
"I will continue to show leadership as an outspoken opponent of the war in Iraq. I will use all my energy, all my power, and my vote to help pull our economy back from the edge of recession, help save constituents' homes from foreclosure, fight for universal healthcare, help find solutions to our transportation challenges, and continue to send millions of dollars in federal resources back to the Atlanta metro area to help its development and its people." |

This lunch will give us an opportunity to hear from Justice Carol Hunstein, who was resoundingly re-elected in 2006, and Justice Robert Benham, who will be up for re-election in 2008 about the radical right wing's attempts to purchase seats on the Supreme Court, and what we can do to help our Justices. No contributions are expected.
