Welcome to the Washington County Democratic Party website!
Your help is extremely necessary if Senators Obama and Biden are to become our next President and Vice-President! We understand that we cannot take another four years of Bush/Cheney policies, but we need volunteers to interact with registered voters who have not voted recently as well as undecided voters.
Our specific volunteer needs are as follows:
- Phone Bank Volunteers: Calling committed Democrats and confirming their interest and support for Obama/Biden. Also contacting Democrats and notifying them of upcoming events.
- Volunteer Canvassers: Walk throughout targeted neighborhoods and register voters as well as encourage families to vote.
There are certain precincts in Washington County that Democrats have traditionally won. And since we know that voter turnout is crucial to an Obama/Biden victory, we have a responsibility to engage in voter contact! Please take some time to volunteer in one or both of these opportunities.

MAKE A DONATION TO THE WASHINGTON COUNTY DEMOCRATIC PARTY
Dear Washington County Democrats,
The Bush Presidency proudly promoted the slogan of “compassionate conservatism” – a concept utilizing traditional Republican policies while claiming to understand the condition of ordinary working Americans.
For eight years Americans certainly saw traditional Republican policies implemented. Tax cuts were given to the wealthiest Americans, opportunities were extended to Halliburton – a company whose CEO was also the Vice-President – to conduct projects in Iraq, and a failed education policy left many American children behind in learning and achievement.
What Americans did not see during the Bush Presidency was the idea of understanding the condition of ordinary working Americans. Working families are feeling the effects of this lack of understanding as the cost of their food and fuel continue to increase and their homes go into foreclosure. As American’s domestic woes deepen, our reputation throughout the world has suffered due to President Bush’s inability to communicate and reach consensus with our foreign neighbors.
It is clear that a unified Democratic Party is necessary in the 2008 elections. We have a great opportunity to win the presidency, a U.S. Senate seat in Tennessee, and the 1st Congressional district race if we will commit our time and finances to rallying other Democrats to vote in August and November.
Your financial contribution will help the local Democratic Party set up a local headquarters for our presidential candidate as well as support future Democratic candidates who run for local or state office. Please act now by sending your contribution to the following address:

Because our area tends to vote predominately Republican, we need the support of every Washington countian who shares Democratic values.
Chair, Washington County Democratic Party Americans truly cannot afford a third Bush term – economically or emotionally. Please show your support for Democratic Party values by making a donation and by volunteering your time.
Sincerely,
Adam G. Dickson
