The South-Central Region of the Young Democrats of America is composed of Arkansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, and Texas. The regional organization serves a number of roles including that of representative and adviser to its member states. The Board of the South-Central Region is also interested in promoting increased participation and interconnectivity among its five member states.
The Young Democrats of America (YDA) is the largest youth-led partisan political organization that builds strong chapters and a solid youth voting bloc for Democrats nationwide.
As the official youth arm of the Democratic Party, YDA mobilizes young people under the age of 36 to participate in the electoral process, influence the ideals of the Democratic Party and develops the skills of the youth generation to serve as leaders at the local and national level.
YDA has two broad areas of organizational focus:
Partnership Programs: YDA’s Chapter Revolution
YDA’s Partnership Programs foster a stronger relationship with, and revolutionize the operation of, all state and local chapters by creating and implementing the following:
- Chapter Building Programs—Building Strong Chapters
- Alliance Campaign Programs—Building a Youth Voting Bloc
National Operations: YDA’s Infrastructure for the Youth Movement
The National Operations programs continue to build the infrastructure and operations of YDA and to expand upon YDA’s capacity to lead the national youth political movement.
All of our programs seek to build the youth-base for Democratic politics, provide hands-on and intensive training of the under 36 generation and secure a progressive Democratic agenda for the next 40 years.
