Democratic Candidate Cook-In
Saturday, July 18

At The Historic Excelsior Club

This event is in honor of the July 17 filing deadline and is the first official opportunity for Democrats of all ages to mingle with the 2009 slate of Democratic candidates! Get to know the Democrats running for Mayor, City Council and School Board and learn more about campaign volunteer opportunities. A $15 entrance fee includes an all you can eat buffet and drink specials. We look forward to seeing you there!

Details: Be part of Charlotte 's oldest Fourth of July community event! The Parade Association encourages non-profit organizations, churches, neighborhood associations, and civic groups to participate in the Celebration as well as the Parade. Participation can include games, booths, etc. Plans must be submitted and registered in writing via fax to 704-537-0728 or via e-mail to hickorygrove@bellsouth.net by 1 pm., June 24th, 2009. The Parade route goes up East W. T. Harris Blvd. , ending at the Celebration site-the tree-shaded grounds of Hickory Grove Presbyterian Church. The 4th of July Celebration will be held from noon to 2 pm at the Church. The celebration includes food concessions, booths, a stage, and a DJ.
